HEY, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE !!! Well, after 4 months of inactive for blogging, finally, I’m BACK !!! And it’s now 2014, how time flies … no more teen age for me, really couldn’t imagine that I have turn into twenties *~* This might be a long post so bear with me for a while because I’ve so many interesting stories to tell you …
Back to 4 months ago, I still remembered clearly the first time I left my hometown all the way to a new environment, the first day I entered my uni alone with fear and nervous and the also the unforgettable orientation week … but now already come to the end of semester 1 with surrounded by so many new friends and two weeks later will be my EOS ~~~ too many things had happened throughout this 4 months and I don’t know where should I start writing my stories … what I could tell is that I really do learnt lots of things during this few months especially to overcome presentation fear. I still can remember how nervous I was when the first time standing in front to speak out during presentation. But after few seminar, we learned from each other and we become better and better. People always said that university life is just had fun and enjoying, but after entered uni, I only knew that isn’t like that at all, studying in uni isn’t like college anymore, it isn’t that easy like you could imagine especially when all the assignments, reports, presentations and class tests all come along in the timetable, that’s the time we all stressed and suffered. At first I think that I can’t cope with them, but still, we all managed to overcome them well and we all did it !!!
Certainly, although we have to deal with all the busy school works, but uni life isn’t not just studying only, there are quite a lot of societies and activities you can participated. Currently I’ve joined 4 clubs for my own interests : photography club, music club, Korean culture club and also community services. I’ve gave up my guitar lesson and only joined the Korean language class in this semester, I always interests in learning Korean language since I’m such a huge fan for kpop and Korean drama. I’ve learned quite some vocabulary, Hangeul writing and basic communication in the class but due to study break and EOS, maybe I’ll miss few classes in the following week. Due to the new policy for our batch starting this year to complete the mpu4 80 hours, I’ve participated as a volunteer in the IMU Open Debate 2013, my job is as a runner and timekeeper, although was quite a boring and time-wasting job, but this gave me an opportunity to watching the interesting debate from all the “machine guns” from different institutes. Another event that I’ve took part is the IMU Halloween Party which held annually. But honestly speaking, I’m still not active in these clubs and society due to the packed timetable, promise will be participate more activities in my following semester. That’s what called UNI LIFE , I’ll try my best to enjoy this 4 years.
Before entering to uni, another problem that I worried is about the accommodation and the housemates. This is the first time I away from my home and living outside alone, I afraid that I can’t use to the environment and also don’t know what kind of housemates I’ll meet … But all these problems aren’t the problem at all when I first moved in the house, all my housemates welcomed to this happy family friendly. Although my room wasn’t as comfortable as my room in JB, but it’s enough for me through. My housemates are all senior and different courses from me, but we became closer after staying for some times and they really take care of me. Especially when they gave me a 19th birthday surprise with a big cake and birthday card, I felt so touched and really appreciated a lot. I can said that they’re the best ever housemates I had met, I’m glad to be one of the member of “sampat family” ^_^
When staying away from home, the biggest problem and the most headache problem that most of us have to face everyday is that what to eat everyday especially dinner for those without transport like me. I believe if you’re IMU students u’ll agree with me. Although there’re stalls nearby my uni, but eating outside everyday isn’t that healthy and hygiene especially for N&D students, we concern for healthy diet and balance diet, so the better way to overcome this is cooking myself. Luckily I’ve learned some simple dishes from my mum so at least I wouldn’t get starving although I never cook in home before I came here. After 3 months of self-training, I could cook quite some delicious dishes too, slowly I’m in love with cooking and feeling satisfied with it but still will try more to improve the taste ^^ Enrolling in N&D course, we have to in love with food and also know some skill in cooking, there will be food preparation in our semester 2, so this is the chance that I could improve my cooking skill and also eating healthier. But sometimes, we have lecture until late evening and I really felt exhausted to walk into the kitchen, cooking isn’t that easy at all …
The most precious things that I have gained is friendship, I really felt lucky that I have met them … although all of us came from different states even different countries, but we have the same dream and interest. We discussed school work, forming group study, helping and take care of each other. Friends can so important especially when you’re away from your home to a unfamiliar environment, we leaned on each other to go on and on … I wish that we all could persist our dream and keep on fighting together throughout the 4 years journey until the day we graduated.
After sharing so much stories of mine, how about yours ? my dear friends and readers ? I believe everyone have their own stories and experiences in their life, life is so beautiful isn’t it ? Wish everyone in the pink of health in 2014 and have a blessed new year ! Stay tuned till my next post. Annyeong ^_^
