Happy Winter Solstice and Merry Christmas everyone ! Just attend two Christmas parties this year before back to my hometown. I’m having my one week year-end holiday now, but hoilday = no holiday. Lots of assignments and presentations still due for me, how I wish I could enjoy and have a good rest during this holiday, but I can’t ! This semester is much shorter than the previous one, exam is coming in less than one month time and I haven’t start to prepare it at all, feeling so stress now… But this is so call university life isn’t it, we have fun time as well as hard time, play as much as we can, study as hard as we could !
# DAY 7 #
Time has come to the last day of our trip in Hokkaido before we heading to self-travel in Tokyo. I miss every single day spending here with our lovely tour mates and also every delicious meal, perhaps we can eat something good in Tokyo too as we know that the living standard there is much higher therefore if want to have better meal there could be much expensive. But it’s time to try some Japanese famous bendol and ramen too !
Early morning golf view from room, too bad it’s a raining day
Dad’s breakfast
Mum’s breakfast
My last breakfast at Hokkaido
I’ll definitely miss Hokkaido milk !
Take a walk at the small garden outside the hotel
Last photo before we leave this beautiful place
Arrival at New Chitose Airport – main airport of Sapporo
Chitose airport is definitely a great place for shopping and bring back some souvenirs back home, I really don’t mind to come here early and just scrolling around. After shopping, we have our lunch at famous ramen street before boarding.
There’re so many ramen stall here with all full seating. We walk straightly to the last corner stall of the street which is recommended by our tour captain.
So lucky to take a photo of this smart looking Japanese ramen shifu ! ^^
While waiting for our ramen …
Do I look like ‘咸蛋超人’?
Zzang ! The real Japanese Ramen ! After trying this, I think I wouldn’t eat any ramen in the Japanese restaurant in our country recently, it can’t be compare at all. I’m totally in love in their handmade ramen. We order different bowl of ramen each but actually I can’t really differentiate them, they all taste almost the same to me. If you’re a small portion eater like me, I suggest you can order one bowl and share for two people because the serving size is more than a person’s portion !
I personally prefer this spicy ramen than the miso ramen.
Another Japanese restaurant that attract me, I don’t think my stomach still have space for this so I just took some photos with the decorations outside the restaurant.
Next destination – Tokyo !
Before boarding … Goodbye Hokkaido !
After 1 hour of flight, we safely arrive Haneda Airport.
Here is the skytree tower when on the way to Asakusa
A Japanese lady in Kimono on the street
Finally, we saw the Kaminarimon sign board where we are heading to …
And here we are ! Kaminarimon (雷门) – the outer large entrance gates that ultimately leads to the Sensō-ji temple. The gate, with its lantern and statues is a famous tourist attraction in Asakusa. The Kaminarimon was first built in 941 with the statues of Fūjin stands on the right and that of Raijin on the left placed on the gate.
This is the small cozy tatami room for our 4 days 3 nights stays. If you think that hotel room in Hokkaido is small, be prepare that Tokyo’s hotel room is even much smaller than that. Although the room is quite squeeze for 3 persons, but overall the environment is quite clean and comfortable.
It is only 5.30pm now, but the sky already turn dark, the nights in Japan fall too early. Before heading for dinner, we stop by at the Kaminarimon to take some photos. But due to lots of tourists passing by, it is so difficult to take a better picture.
wait for almost 5 minutes just to take a photo
And so we begin our first food street hunting in Asakuka
We were attracted by the colourful food models of this restaurant so decided to have dinner here.
My first dinner in Tokyo – Oyakodon (親子丼). Typically it is a donburi, in which chicken, egg, sliced scallion and other ingredients are all simmered together in a sauce and then served on top of a large bowl of rice. However, it just taste so-so only for me which almost similar to the bendol.
The design of the lantern bowl is so special, could I take back one home.
Dad’s miso ramen, I still prefer the ramen we ate at Chitose Airport for our lunch.
My mum order this dish which known as 日式中华料理,but it taste too sweet and sticky, I prefer our chinese Wo-tan-hor or hokkein mee.
It’s still early after our dinner, so we walk to the nearby Sensō-ji (金龍山浅草寺) which is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Asakusa. Founded in 628, it is Tokyo's oldest temple, and definitely a significant tourists attraction in Asakusa. Many people believe that the Asakusa Kannon deity enshrined here has the ability to bestow benefits on earth, and around 30 million visitors from throughout Japan and abroad visit the temple every year.

Asakuka Lantern Festival
Although I’m not really believe in fortune telling but just try my luck this time.
I can’t read Japanese, but according to the big mandarin letters “大吉”above, I guess this mean a good fortune right ? Just hope that everyone is safe and everything run smoothly during the trip. Nothing is more important than that during travelling, isn’t it ?
It’s about 8.30pm now, not too early yet too late. We head back to the hotel after the night street walk. Japan’s streets are always so clean even the alley, you can’t find a single rubbish or any bin on the street. So remember to carry around some plastic bags for your trash during your travel.
So that’s all for today post, not much photos taken compared to the previous. Get enough rest today and yeap tomorrow we are heading to the fairy tale world - Tokyo Disneyland ! Stay Tuned ~
To Be Continued 8.0 …
