Putrajaya Day Trip

1

Hey guys! Hope you’re having a great day! Just finished my Sem4 EOS last month and currently I’m enjoying my semester break in my lovely hometown. It’s always glad to be back home, enjoying good food, gathering with old school friends and most preciously spending time with my family. This should be a post publish long time ago, but I always lazy to arrange and watermark the photos, finally writing this post since I have free time now.

Throwback to last year November, I went to a day trip in Putrajaya with my Tzu Ching friends during weekend. Still remember the last time I went there was with my family during my primary school time, it was already 10 years ago matter, WOW! It sounds like I’m so old now. Putrajaya is a planned beautiful city, about 25km south of Kuala Lumpur, serves as the federal administrative centre of Malaysia. It became Malaysia’s third Federal Territory after Kuala Lumpur and Labuan. Putrajaya planned as a garden and intelligent city, one third of the area is reserved for green spaces by emphasising the enhancement of natural landscape.

It was a bright sunny weather that day, you can see that how clear the blue sky from the photos and could imagine how hot we felt that time. Our first destination — Putrajaya Lake which sitting in the heart of Putrajaya. This 650ha man-made lake is the city's centrepiece, a blue watery expanse which blends across the different precincts and the single prevalent influence which calms and soothes. It is designed to act as a natural cooling system for the city and also for recreation, fishing, water sports and water transport. A lovely way to enjoy the lake is to take a cruise, sail or boat ride on it. The scenery can be particularly stunning at sunset. However the time we reach there was almost noon time, we don’t want to get sun burn either so we choose to rent the bikes and enjoyed cycling around the lake.

Luckily there have one and the only one two person bike, otherwise I will have to walk on my legs because honestly speaking I don’t know how to cycle at all. I know who are laughing at me now but seriously this was my first time experience riding on a bike and thanks to my driver who fetched me throughout the wonderful journey! It looked so romantic right? However in reality it was really tough to control and balance due to larger resistance. So sorry to make her sweated so much and exhausted at the end.

Its amazing architecture design gaining popularity as local and foreign tourists. The mosque is open for public included non-Muslim to visit and take photo, but we have to to wear the red coat they provided before enter it.

Its impressive minaret is influenced by the design of the Sheikh Omar Mosque in Baghdad. At 116m, it is one of the tallest minarets in the region and has five tiers, representing the Five Pillars of Islam.

The Sahn, landscaped with several decorative water features and bordered by colonnades, provides a huge yet welcoming and beautiful prayer space.

Where’s next stop? — Calories! Yeap, it’s our lunch time now! We had our meal in an Arab restaurant. I couldn’t recall what’s the restaurant name as I just followed them here. The food was not bad, just realized all of our ordered were carbs at the end.

Visiting to Putrajaya, you must not miss out the famous Seri Wawasan Bridge, which is one of the trademarks in Putrajaya interpreting the uniqueness of the place. The bridge is designed to look like a cable-stayed bridge, allowing it to stand out from the common bridges we can find anywhere else in Malaysia. Seri Wawasan Bridge is also a distinctive feature which plays the important role of connecting the different precincts of Putrajaya. Thus, if you are to reach Putrajaya, you will definitely pass by this bridge. Besides, it’s a great place for the whole spectacular view of the landmarks in Putrajaya such as Putra Mosque and Perdana Putra on the Seri Wawasan Bridge.

Our last destination before leaving this place — Cruise Lake. Here is another side of the Putrjaya Lake, where visitors can take a leisurely cruise to see and marvel at the city's stunning landmarks and views. For many, it is only via the unique perspective accorded from this waterway that one can see and experience the most breathtaking sights of Putrajaya. Visitors can choose from different modes of transportation when cruising Putrajaya Lake - by passenger cruise boat or the gondola like vessels designed to the style of local Malay traditional perahu.
