IMU Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association

I had promised myself to be more active in school activities compared to Semester 1. So in this semester I had joined a few activities for example yoga class, IMU care project, Youth Camp, Charity Home Visit and others volunteering event. Among all those activities, the most meaningful for me is that I’ve joined IMU Tzu Chi’s charity activities. Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association is a compassionate charity and service organization that focuses on community service, with an added sense of family.

 

Event 1.0 - Charity Home Visit 家访

Before the home visit, they showed us some videos and demonstration about the home visit to let us understand about the situation of the poor and needy.

This was my very first time joining charity home visit. Everything was so new to me. I was subdivided into this group visited to a disabled people’s house. The uncle was so glad to see us coming and he was really a talkative person. He was so cheerful and even has a more positive thinking than us. Only with a proper view on life can one enjoy a happy life. We should learn the right attitude from him.

Event 2.0 – Recycling Day 环保日

Event 3.0 – 518 Camp Appreciation Home Gathering 感恩家聚

Home gathering is the monthly dinner gathering for IMU Tzu Chi members with and some games & sharing. The home gathering this time is also for the appreciation of 518 camp which was just over. Will write about the camp further in the next post.

Every time of joining in Tzu Chi’s activities will make sure me gain lots of things and memorable experiences from there. Their warm hearted gave us the feel of big family when we were away from our home. Unfortunately, I couldn’t participate and help out in the recently IMU Tzu Chi’s first official event held in IMU which is the S.O.S Recycling Exhibition due to my semester break. I’ve missed out lots of interesting things in IMU this 3 months. Anyway, will try to participate in more others event in my next semester.  Although academic is still the priority for me, but university is not just all about studies. University life is just once in a life time for me, so should make it as colorful as possible！
